Birthday boy, Ranveer Singh gave his fans a surprise on his special day which was his FIRST look from ’83 the film. The actor will step into a different territory altogether, which is a biographical sports drama based on the life of former Indian skipper Kapil Dev and largely tells the story of Indian cricketing team’s win at the World Cup in the year 1983. Just a few hours ago Ranveer shared the picture of his look from the film and his fans are going gaga over his striking resemblance with the cricketer.

Fans along with us are super excited to see Ranveer in this role. And need we say anything about the lad’s acting chops? From Bittoo of Band Baja Baraat to Murad in Gully Boy, Ranveer has proved his mettle as an actor with each film that he has taken up. He has actually lived every character he has ever played on the silver screen and that’s one of the reasons why he is currently one of the best actors we have in B-Town. Talking about the film, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer’s real wife will step into the shoes of Romi Bhatia, Kapil’s wife. This is a recent development and she expressed how she was more than delighted she was to be a part of this film. ’83 also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Jiiva, Ammy Virk, Harrdy Sandhu, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Sahil Khattar and Chirag Patil in key roles.

In and interview about how he is prepping for his role in the film, Ranveer told IANS: “Playing a living legend poses a unique set of challenges, and your approach to the preparation for that character has to be all the more intensive. And it has been. But at the same time, it has been very rewarding and fulfilling.”
