EXCLUSIVE! JP Dutta’s daughter Nidhi: Today what I am doing is just an extension of him
It is clear that Nidhi has imbibed a lot of qualities from her family. And while dealing with the projects she has on her platter, the female producer will always stand by them.

JP Films recently announced their three projects – two films and one digital series. Interestingly this time, it is JP Dutta’s daughter, Nidhi, who is helming the projects that have been announced. One of these three projects is a biopic based on an Ashoka Chakra Award winner of Kashmir. It will feature the life and struggle of the awardee in strife-torn Kashmir and the story is a compelling mix of emotions, bravery, courage and heroism. Recently, BollywoodLife conversed with Nidhi Dutta over a call and she spoke about the lessons and teachings from her family that she will keep in mind while working on the projects.

Talking about the same, Nidhi said, “I have been a part of the legacy that has not mainly to do with these war films. On the walls of my cabin, I have posters of my grandfather’s movies like Pyaar Ki Jeet, Malkin and many others (which were of a different genre). Then, I have about 57 posters of my mother’s projects (Golmaal, Shaan, Khatarnak to name a few). And then there’s my dad’s zone of films like Batwara, Hathyar and Ghulami. Coming from that sort of school, there are a lot of lessons imbibed in me while I was growing up. ”

Going down the memory lane, Nidhi continued, “I used to share a room with my grandpa, who would take me to school, every morning. He would tell so many stories about his career and somewhere all of that became lessons and teachings for me which has stayed. Today, when I am dealing with the business of movies, I will always think (Dadaji would have dealt with a situation in this way or that way). Same goes with my dad. I am blessed to be born as his daughter. The kind of values, integrity that he has maintained in his professional and personal life, I have learnt that from him. And today what I am doing, is just an extension of him.”

It is clear that Nidhi has imbibed a lot of qualities from her family. And while dealing with the projects she has on her platter, the female producer will always stand by them. As of now, Nidhi has started the groundwork for the biopic and is travelling to Kashmir to scout locations for the shoot.
