Despite Kabir Singh storm, Ayushmann Khurrana’s Article 15 takes a decent opening at the box office
Article 15 is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution that prohibits discrimination of Indians on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth, and it takes inspiration from true life events

Ayushmann Khurrana’s Article 15, which released yesterday has opened to a decent response at the ticket windows. Despite facing stiff competition from Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh, the hard-hitting drama raked in Rs 5.02 crore on its first day at the box office. By looking at the current scenario, we are expecting the film to show substantial growth on Saturday and Sunday and cross the Rs 20 crore mark in its first weekend.

#Article15 has a decent Day 1… Gathered speed towards evening shows, after a dull start in the morning… Should witness an upward trend/substantial growth on Day 2… Metros are driving the biz and high-end multiplexes will contribute largely… Fri ₹ 5.02 cr. India biz.

When asked if Article 15 should be declared tax-free, Ayushmann said, “I definitely feel that this film should be declared as a tax free film because it is necessary that this film should reach every part of the country. It’s not a comedy or an entertaining film. It is based on a vital subject, so it should reach maximum number of people.”
